Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of OpenBook, an Irish booking platform operated by OpenHouse AI Limited (trading as OpenBook), registered in Ireland. By using the OpenBook app or website you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. The service

OpenBook helps customers find and book appointments at independent local businesses (gyms, salons, spas, barbers, physios, yoga studios and similar service providers). Each business sets its own services, prices, hours, cancellation policy and payment requirements. OpenBook acts as the booking layer between you and the business — we are not the service provider.

2. Your account

You can browse and book without an account, but creating one (via Apple, Google or email + password) lets us sync your bookings across devices, save your preferences and surface bookings made through the AI assistant. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.

3. Bookings and payment

When you book a slot, that slot is reserved for you with the business. If the business requires online payment, the booking is finalised after Stripe confirms the payment. Refunds and rescheduling are governed by the business's own policy, which is shown at booking time.

OpenBook charges no booking fee to consumers.

4. Cancellations

Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before your booking unless the business sets a different policy (shown on the booking confirmation). Late cancellations and no-shows may forfeit any payment made.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use OpenBook to abuse, defraud or harass businesses or other users; don't attempt to reverse-engineer the platform; and don't use automated tooling to mass-book slots. We may suspend accounts that breach this.

6. Liability

OpenBook isn't responsible for the quality, safety or legality of the services any business provides — that's the business's responsibility. To the maximum extent permitted by Irish law, our liability for any claim arising out of your use of OpenBook is limited to the amount you have paid through OpenBook in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under Irish consumer protection law.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be flagged in the app before they take effect.
